Children's Month  In the Philippines, October is designated as National Children's Month. As mandated by Presidential Proclamation 267, now is the moment to acknowledge Filipino children as the most precious resources within the community. Across the Philippines, government and non-government organizations observe the month-long festival, which also serves as a campaign to improve children's physical, emotional, moral, spiritual, and intellectual well-being and to put an end to violence against them. According to UNICEF, every year millions of children around the world become victims of untold violence. Children in every country, every culture and at every social level face various forms of abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence. Reflection on Quarter 2

Image
My reflection of this Quarter II As a student of grade 10 th grade, the second quarter was very challenging and complicated. This quarter, I've discovered the importance of timing and comprehending the lessons regardless of whether the method is correct or not. The most part of lessons that ICT suffered me the most is the typing and understand the code. Its   extremely hard because it was time consuming on every activity we had and difficulty to understand the code. However, with the help of our teacher, I was able to understand the topic and activity. I acquired   knowledge on how code works on the computer and understanding the code. Time consumption was another issue that plagued me this quarter. It was challenging for me because each task has a deadline to be completed. You took a while to finish because you were unsure of the code to use. We therefore occasionally pass the task later than expected because we have a limited amount of time to complete it. However,...

Reflection on Vigan Festival

Image
Umay ken Agrag-sak tayo! The celebrations of the Ilocanos culture as known as the Vigan Festival held in Vigan City, Philippines. It is done annually by the Ilocanos to show their rich culture and colorful community. I was suddenly overcome with amazement and love for the customs that were on display as I reflected on what I had witnessed at the Vigan festival. This festival offers a variety of appealing events that draw visitors and encourage them to stay to watch the stunning performances. The Vigan Festival of the Ilocanos is celebrated during the second week February and this is the time of year when street games, music acts, traditional dances, and colorful parades are celebrated. In 1572, Spanish explorer Juan de Salcedo arrived in the Ilocos region and established the city of Vigan. As governor of the area, Salcedo turned transformed it into a hub of trade for the Spanish. It was during the 16th century when Vigan became an important stopover and trading post on the histori...

Jose Rizal

Image
"Jose Rizal, the face of the Philippines" One of the greatest contributions of Jose Rizal to the Philippines is his role as a catalyst for the Philippine Revolution and the eventual quest for independence from Spanish colonial rule. This contribution is significant for several reasons: 1. Inspiration and Nationalism: Rizal's writings, particularly "Noli Me Tangere" and "El Filibusterismo," exposed the injustices and abuses of the Spanish colonial government and the friar orders. They ignited a sense of nationalism and pride among Filipinos, inspiring them to unite and work towards positive change. 2. Peaceful Resistance: Rizal advocated for reforms through peaceful means, emphasizing the power of education, reason, and dialogue to address societal issues. His approach demonstrated that change could be pursued without resorting to violence, setting an important precedent for peaceful resistance movements. 3. Intellectual Legacy: Rizal's intellectu...
